ABBot William I President of the Iron City Trust Company of Pittsburg was born In Columbus Ohio April 29 1852 he received a common school and academic education In 1871 he entered the employ of Andrew Carnegie as a clerk by diligent and close attention to business he rose In the estimation of his employer and In 1876 he became superintendent of the works Not long after he was made vice chairman of the firm of Carnegie Phlpps & Co and in 1889 he was made chairman In 1892 he retired from the Carnegie interests and devoted several years to travel and recreation He afterward became a director of the Pittsburg National Bank of Commerce the Lincoln Foundry Company and the Duquesne Manufacturing Company he is also a director of the Pittsburg Chamber of Commerce member of the Art Society the Western Pennsylvania Institution for the Blind and many social and charitable organizations Address 200 Ninth St Pittsburg Pa
